Mental Health Counselling
I use a humanistic and experiential approach, drawing on my training in attachment science, as well as mindfulness and cognitive-based disciplines to offer mental health counselling for individuals. It involves facilitating clients to gain insights into their thoughts, emotions, behaviors and physical sensations, set a therapeutic goals collaboratively with me as their counsellor to address mental health issues through directive or non-directive approach (clients directing the content of discussion, with therapists facilitating clients to find solutions to problems by offering useful reflections and insights). I integrate humanistic experiential interventions which focused on reshaping intrapsychic experience and each individual's patterns of engagement with significant others through corrective experiences to offer transformative moments where vulnerabilities are encountered with balance; enable individuals to move into the accessibility/openness, responsiveness and full engagement that characterises secure attachment with others; enable them to shape a coherent sense of a competent self that can deal with existential life issues.
Pre-marital counselling
I use a personalized assessment at the beginning of the premarital journey to provide couple with an unbiased and clear view of their relationship. The tailored approach will allow couples to get to know each other on a deeper level. It can also help couples build confidence in their decision to move towards the next step in their relationship.
Marital and Relationship Counselling
I help committed couples to gain understanding of their relationship dynamics, strength and growth areas; help couples to rebuild trust after affairs and traumas; faciliate couples to heal and recover from addictive behaviours; foster secure attachment between partners. I utilise evidence-based interventions and research-based assessments, which involves customization to each couple’s particular patterns and challenges to facilitate couples to cope with their problems/ conflicts in constructive ways and enrich their marriages and relationships.
Family Counselling
I help individuals/ with their family members who are willing to attend the counselling sessions and wish to enhance or improve family relationships. The goal is to explore resources, address barriers, better communicate with each other, and build a more harmonious and supportive family system by clarifying each family member's expectations and perspectives on the family; identify the resources of each family member and acknowledging their contributions; enhance communication skills; helping them to express and receive love from their family members; build closer emotional bonding; take responsibility for oneself and others; dealing with differences; address conflicts among family members (including intergenerational relationships, in-laws, extended family, etc.); develop coping strategies to navigate transitions or crises.
Parenting Coaching
I help parents to optimise the way they support their children’s wellbeing. Parents are supported to manage their feelings and reactions towards their struggling child and to consider their role in encouraging their children’s potential for healthy development. I help parents get back on track as a loving and firm leader in their family. I help parents change their old patterns of interaction with their child, help parents to equip their children with more autonomy and responsibility through lifting up the parents' capacity to manage their reactivity towards their children's struggles. I help parents to improve the way how they can support their children to take their own responsibilities to manage their emotional regulation and be able to manage their own life tasks/ challenges for the age they are at.
