Mental Health Counselling
I use a humanistic and experiential approach, drawing on my training in Emotionally Focused Therapy, as well as mindfulness and cognitive-based disciplines to offer mental health counselling for individuals. It involves facilitating clients to gain insights into their thoughts, emotions, behaviors and physical sensations, set a therapeutic goals collaboratively with me as their Counsellor to address mental health issues through directive or non-directive approach (clients directing the content of discussion, with therapists facilitating clients to find solutions to problems by offering useful reflections and insights). I integrate humanistic experiential interventions which focused on reshaping intrapsychic experience and each individual's patterns of engagement with significant others through corrective experiences to offer transformative moments where vulnerabilities are encountered with balance; enable individuals to move into the accessibility/openness, responsiveness and full engagement that characterises secure attachment with others; enable them to shape a coherent sense of a competent self that can deal with existential life issues and become a fully alive human being.
Pre-marital counselling
I use a personalized assessment at the beginning of the premarital journey to provide couple with an unbiased and clear view of their relationship. The tailored approach will allow couples to get to know each other on a deeper level. It can also help couples build confidence in their decision to move towards the next step in their relationship.
Marital and Relationship Counselling
I help committed couples to gain understanding of their relationship dynamics, strength and growth areas; helping couples in treating affairs and trauma; facilitating couples to cope with issues arise in healthy ways; fostering resilience and enriching their relationships. I utilise Prepare/Enrich assessment, Gottman Method Couples Therapy and Attachment Science in practice to help couples fostering resilient relationships and marriages. It involves customizing principles from the research to each couple’s particular patterns and challenges. Helping couples to expand and re-organize their key emotional responses ; create a positive shift in partners interactional positions and patterns during the process; foster the creation of a secure bond between partners.
Family Counselling
I help individuals with two or more family members willing to attend the counselling sessions who wish to enhance or improve family relationships. The goal is to explore resources, address barriers, better communicate with each other, and build a more harmonious and supportive family system by clarifying each family member's expectations and perspectives on the family; identifying the resources of each family member and acknowledging their contributions; enhancing communication skills; helping them to express and receive love from their family members; building closer emotional bonding; taking responsibility for oneself and others; dealing with differences; addressing conflicts among family members (including intergenerational relationships, in-laws, extended family, etc.); using effective parenting methods; developing coping strategies to navigate transitions or crises.
