Mental Health Counselling
We use a humanistic and experiential approach, drawing on my training in attachment science, as well as mindfulness and cognitive-based disciplines to offer mental health counselling for individuals. It involves facilitating clients to gain insights into their thoughts, emotions, behaviors and physical sensations, set a therapeutic goals collaboratively with me as their counsellor to address mental health issues through directive or non-directive approach (clients directing the content of discussion, with therapists facilitating clients to find solutions to problems by offering useful reflections and insights). We integrate humanistic experiential interventions which focused on reshaping intrapsychic experience and each individual's patterns of engagement with significant others through corrective experiences to offer transformative moments where vulnerabilities are encountered with balance; enable individuals to move into the accessibility/openness, responsiveness and full engagement that characterises secure attachment with others; enable them to shape a coherent sense of a competent self that can deal with existential life issues.
Pre-marital counselling
We use a personalized assessment at the beginning of the premarital journey to provide couple with an unbiased and clear view of their relationship. The tailored approach will allow couples to get to know each other on a deeper level. It can also help couples build confidence in their decision to move towards the next step in their relationship.
Marital and Relationship Counselling
We help committed couples to gain understanding of their relationship dynamics, strength and growth areas; help couples to rebuild trust after affairs and traumas; faciliate couples to heal and recover from addictive behaviours; foster secure attachment between partners. We utilise evidence-based interventions and research-based assessments, which involves customization to each couple’s particular patterns and challenges to facilitate couples to cope with their problems/ conflicts in constructive ways and enrich their marriages and relationships.
Family Counselling
We help individuals/ with their family members who are willing to attend the counselling sessions and wish to enhance or improve family relationships. The goal is to explore resources, address barriers, better communicate with each other, and build a more harmonious and supportive family system by clarifying each family member's expectations and perspectives on the family; identify the resources of each family member and acknowledging their contributions; enhance communication skills; helping them to express and receive love from their family members; build closer emotional bonding; take responsibility for oneself and others; dealing with differences; address conflicts among family members (including intergenerational relationships, in-laws, extended family, etc.); develop coping strategies to navigate transitions or crises.
Play Therapy
Play therapy is an evidence-based therapeutic approach for the children from age 3 to 11. The systematic use of a theoretical play therapy model establishes an interpersonal process to allow children to express their inner feelings, release emotional distress, process traumatic experiences, promote autonomy, problem solving, discipline and self regulation, and develop social skills and coping strategies to significant life changes. Play therapy helps children rediscover themselves and build confidence through a trusting and safe relationship with the play therapist to support their overall mental and emotional wellbeing. Our team of trained play therapists adopt a Child-led play therapy model and the therapeutic powers of play to empower children to resolve or manage psychosocial difficulties and achieve optimal growth and development. Our registered play therapists have extensive experience in working with children with anxiety/selective mutism, anger issue, stress to learning difficulties and friendships, grief and loss as well as neurodevelopmental differences including ASD, ADHD, and global developmental delay.
Child-Parent Relationship Therapy
Child-Parent Relationship Therapy (CPRT) is a scientific-based and play-based intervention designed to strengthen the parent-child bond, deepen emotional connection, and enhance parental insight into a child’s inner world. Grounded in Child-centered play therapy (CCPT) principles, CPRT equips parents to become the primary therapeutic agents of change in their child's lives, fostering optimal emotional and developmental growth. Rather than focusing solely on behaviour management, CPRT guides parents to look beyond behavioural issues and understand the underlying emotional needs of their child caused by disruptive behaviours. Through empathetic listening, reflective communication and therapeutic boundary setting, parents learn to see and respond to their child with genuine empathy. CPRT incorporates structured role-play practice and skills rehearsal to help parents confidently set a dedicated therapeutic “special playtime" with their child at home. Through building a secure and trusting parent-child relationship, CPRT facilitates profound, transformative growth and positive change in parent-child relationship to have a loving harmonious home environment.
Parent Coaching
We help parents to optimise the way they support wellbeing of their children, including adolescents and young adults. Parents are supported to manage their feelings and reactions towards their struggling children and to consider their role in encouraging their children’s potential for healthy development. We help parents get back on track as a loving and firm leader in their family. We help parents change their old patterns of interaction with their children, help parents to equip their children with more autonomy and responsibility through lifting up the parents' capacity to manage their reactivity towards their children's struggles. We help parents to improve the way how they can support their children to take their own responsibilities to manage their emotional regulation and be able to manage their own life tasks/ challenges for the age they are at.
Social Emotional Learning
It is the way children acquire social and emotional skills. It includes things like managing difficult emotions, making responsible decisions, handling stress, setting goals, and building healthy relationships. Social Emotional Learning has five main skills: self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills and responsible decision-making.
Executive Functioning Coaching
We help children on planning; organization; task initiation and goal setting; time management; self-regulation and self-control; attention and focus; working memory; metacognition; flexibility; perseverance that help students to accomplish tasks and meet goals.
