Majely’s therapeutic approach is formulation‑driven, collaborative, and grounded in evidence‑based practice. She works primarily within Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT‑informed skills). In the treatment of trauma and suicide risk, she integrates Trauma‑Focused CBT (TF‑CBT) and suicide‑specific interventions to create a safe, structured, and stabilising therapeutic space where clients can process difficult experiences while building resilience and practical coping strategies. When working with children and adolescents, Majely incorporates behavioural analysis and developmental understanding to ensure interventions are practical, measurable, and closely aligned with each young person’s stage of growth. She works collaboratively with families to strengthen emotional communication, resilience, and long‑term coping skills. Joyce has extensive training in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Acceptance Commitment Therapy, Child-Centered Play Therapy, Theraplay ® and Filial Therapy. Joyce supports individuals in enhancing their resiliency and internal resources to deal with life’s challenges. She has had experience working with individuals and young children in the area of depression, anxiety, behavioural and academic issues, social skills, self-harm, anger management, effective communication, self-image, loss and grief, adjustments, emotion dysregulation to ASD/ADHD and family issues. Joyce is also an educator teaching a Masters’ degree program at two local universities. She continues to provide clinical consultation and supervision to helping professionals who practice in Hong Kong and Australia. She has also conducted training, talks and workshops to schools, parents and different professional organizations. Joyce is fluent in English and Putonghua and a native Cantonese speaker. She has a good understanding of the diversity of both the Chinese and Western cultures. Joyce's cultural sensitivity helps her have a better perspective to understand the challenges faced by individuals from local and/or mixed cultural families.
